Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! 900 600 Betsy Miller

New Year = Clean Slate

Hey y’all, it’s that time of year again.  New Year, new beginnings, fresh start, reset button…yada, yada, yada!  That feeling when you have a brand new planner with clean pages, oh that sweet, sweet feeling!  You vow to write everything nice and neat this year.  That feeling when all the Christmas presents have found their home and the decorations have been neatly put into labeled bins (anyone, anyone…just me?) OK. Anyway, it’s that feeling that you want to keep all year. Then something happens.

February.  February happens and you say, forget this crap.  I don’t have time to stay organized.  I don’t have time to write nice and neat in my planner.  Put things away?  When would I have time for that?  But you know what?  You DO have time.

Here’s the deal. We are ALL busy.  We all have lives, families, friends, pets, jobs, volunteer commitments, goals.  The list is long.  What we all have in common is that we each have 24 hours in a day.  How you choose to spend those 24 hours is what could get and KEEP you organized.

Set yourself up for success…make the time!  Being organized actually saves you money AND time!  How can you say no to that? So take 5 minutes today and clean out the junk drawer.  Take 3 minutes and pull off that dry cleaning plastic from your clothes and see how much better your closet looks.  Take 5 minutes to pitch any food in your pantry that has a 19 in the expiration date….you know, like 1999.  It’s true, I’ve found food that old before.  Scary but true.  Remind me sometime to tell you about my first experience on Hoarders and the “canned food incident”.  It will make you RUN to your pantry and clean that bad boy out, time or no time.

You don’t have to spend an entire day doing any of these things…some take mere minutes.  And I know we ALL have a few minutes.  Don’t say you’re the exception, I’ve seen your social media posts…you clearly have time on your hands!

So here’s to new beginnings and writing neatly in your planner.

Xoxo~Betsy
